Looking at Andreas Wannerstedt’s 3D animations at the Volvo Art Session 2018 instantly instils a sense of deep contentment and relaxation.

Art which makes you at once content and maybe even a little bit happy? This is the stated aim of Swedish artist Andreas Wannerstedt:
“I want to elicit in the viewer a feeling of fulfilment and satisfaction. Something that invites them to relax.”

With his eight 3D animations entitled “Oddly Satisfying”, he has done just that: visitors stand mesmerized in front of the loops, which seem to override all the laws of physics. There was a certain mystique to the way the tranquillity and inherent order of the animations was transferred instantly to the viewer – oddly satisfying indeed.
